Fiona Duggan - FiD

Fiona is founding director of FiD, a London-based consultancy set up in 2006 to work with organisations and institutions undergoing change. With qualifications covering architecture, psychology, teaching and business, Fiona works at the place where users and buildings meet, seeking ways in which the design and use of space can support change. Over the past 35 years Fiona has worked in design, teach, research and consultancy roles across more than 200 organisations and institutions. She has learnt that a viable project is one that aligns client aspirations, user requirements, space (required and/or available), time, budget and sustainability criteria. Having also learnt that nobody knows as much as everybody, her approach is discourse-based, supported by relevant information and scenario modelling. Her aim is to help clients create a compelling narrative, where their conversation starts to move from ‘the way things are’ to ‘this is what we believe our future could be’.

Expertise: the client brief, space planning, building appraisals, estate reviews, pilot studies, user engagement, change support, new ways of learning and working, the blended future, further and higher education, corporate, cultural.
