Post-Occupancy Evaluation and Researching Building User Experience
– With Nigel Oseland, Workplace Unlimited

Tuesday 30 January 2024, 10.30am – 3.30pm
Herman Miller Showroom, London, WC2B 6LH

Following the recent publication of his new book, A Practical Guide to Post-Occupancy Evaluation and Researching Building User Experience, Nigel Oseland joins us to present his masterclass on the subject.

Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) is the systematic process for measuring a building’s performance, and in particular it reveals how well a building supports its occupying business. For designers, POEs provide essential pre-design feedback, informing the design brief to determine occupant requirements and help focus future expenditure.

POEs can also be employed on a regular basis to measure employee satisfaction and the results used to plan future maintenance &/or building projects.

This masterclass will give practical guidance and case study examples on how to conduct a POE. Numbers are limited to 12 people to ensure a quality day for delegates.

The day will include sessions on:

• The definition of POE and its importance
• The methods and metrics of POE, eg employee feedback, expert walkthroughs, physical measurement, space analysis, utilisation & costing
• How to design and conduct a POE, in particular employee surveys and other feedback techniques
• Measurement of quality, employee satisfaction and the impact on performance
• Interpreting feedback, analysing data and presenting POE results including sharing lessons learned
• Examples of established POE methodologies
• A workshop on creating your own POE method

Delegates will also receive a complimentary signed copy of Practical Guide to Post-Occupancy Evaluation.

Numbers are limited to 12 people to ensure a quality day for delegates, so register now to avoid disappointment.
